Set up price alerts

Goal. Get notified when a symbol crosses a price you care about — entry, exit, or stop-out level.

Setup

Steps

  1. Open the watchlist. Sidebar → watchlist icon, or g then w.
  2. Find your symbol. Use / to highlight, or click the row.
  3. Open the alert composer. Click the bell icon on the row, or press b with the row highlighted.
  4. Pick the trigger type. Choose Price threshold. (Other types: volume spike, news keyword, price-target shift — see Alerts.)
  5. Set the threshold. Enter the absolute price and choose above or below. The composer shows the current price and how far you are from the threshold in %.
  6. Pick a window. Always-on, market-hours-only, or a custom schedule.
  7. Pick a delivery channel. In-app toast, email, or both.
  8. Save. The alert appears in the alerts panel with state active (or tracking if you're already within 1% of the trigger).

What you should see

  • A bell icon next to the symbol's row in the watchlist.
  • A row in the alerts panel showing the rule, current distance to trigger, and state badge.
  • (When triggered) a toast notification and/or an email; the alert moves to "fired" history.

Variations

  • Stop-loss style — set a below-threshold ~5% under your average cost from the Market panel Portfolio view.
  • Breakout — combine a price threshold above resistance with a volume-spike alert on the same symbol (composer supports AND combinator).
  • Keep firing — alerts default to one-shot. Toggle Re-arm to re-fire on subsequent crossings.

Tips

  • Triggered alerts move to "fired" history but stay associated with the symbol — re-arm from history rather than rebuilding from scratch.
  • Email delivery uses the address verified in your profile, not the login email if those differ.
  • Watch your active-alert count — soft cap is ~100; the composer will warn before you exceed it.
