Atlas for investors

This guide is for investors making decisions on horizons longer than a quarter. The emphasis is on the fundamental analysis stack (Security dashboard) and disciplined portfolio review.

Pre-investment workflow (per-name)

For every name you're considering:

  1. Read the description. Security dashboard → Description. Understand the actual business before any number.
  2. Anchor on percentile rank. Security dashboard → Percentile rank. Where does this name sit in its sector on key ratios?
  3. Check ownership. Security dashboard → Ownership. Who's been buying / selling? Is the holder base diversified or concentrated?
  4. Read the financials. Income statement, balance sheet, cash flow (Fundamentals). Margin trend, leverage, FCF generation.
  5. Look at multiples in context. Fundamentals → Multiples. Is the current multiple rich or cheap relative to its own history?
  6. Sanity check with comparison. Security dashboard → Comparison. Plot against 2–3 sector peers.
  7. Read the latest transcript. Security dashboard → Transcripts. Skim the prepared remarks, then the Q&A. Use AI chat to summarize after.
  8. Check filings calendar. Security dashboard → Filings. Anything pending? Anything strange in the most recent 8-K?

If the name passes all eight, add it to your watchlist with a note on entry conditions.

Screening workflow

Use Advanced search to find candidates by asset class, region, and sector. Save the screen, then run each candidate through the per-name workflow above.

For thematic screens (e.g., "high-FCF tech"), build a Model portfolio and overlay it against your live portfolio to see if your positioning matches your thesis.

See How do I — Build a screener for click-by-click.

Portfolio review (weekly)

Open My portfolio. Check:

  • Concentration — top-N share. Anything above ~10% per name?
  • Sector allocation — does it match your thesis or has it drifted?
  • Drawdown — any name down >20% from cost? Re-run the per-name workflow.
  • Performance — vs. benchmark and vs. your model portfolios.
  • Closed-position attribution — what worked, what didn't, in the last quarter.

For client review (advisory plans), generate the Model portfolio report PDF a few days before the meeting so you have time to spot data oddities.

Earnings season workflow

For every name you hold or are watching, set a reminder ahead of the print:

  1. Three days before — review consensus and revision history (Fundamentals → Estimates trends).
  2. Day of — read the press release (Disclosures → Press releases).
  3. Day after — read the transcript and run How do I — Analyze earnings.
  4. Update notes; re-evaluate the name's place in the portfolio.

Glossary discipline

Every fundamental term used in Atlas has a glossary entry. If you're not 100% solid on what a metric means, click through and read the definition before using it as a basis for a decision.

Limits to know

  • EODHD fundamentals lag actual filings by hours to days.
  • Some emerging-market names have spotty fundamentals coverage — check before relying on them.
